CeDS brings together inclusive training, counselling, disability-studies research support and public awareness for learners and families across Kerala.

The Centre of Excellence for Differently Abled Studies (CeDS), located at Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram (A Government of Kerala Undertaking Organization) works for the holistic development of persons with disabilities through education, skill development, counselling, vocational training, awareness and disability-focused academic support.

Academic Programmes

D-Skill Development

Course-based training helps persons with disabilities build practical digital, vocational and creative skills for employment, self-employment and daily confidence.

  • Training areas include office automation, desktop publishing, web designing, Tally, hardware, networking and MS Office.
  • Vocational areas include paper bag making, book binding, garment fashion, hand embroidery, bouquet making and basic electronics.
  • Career counselling and PSC exam training support are part of employability-focused activities.
  • Selection is based on qualification and disability certificate requirements.

Research, Therapy and Resource Support

CeDS encourages applied work, supportive interventions and resource access that improve learning, participation and quality of life for persons with disabilities.

  • Financial assistance is provided for approved disability-focused research projects.
  • Horticulture therapy activities support confidence, routine and wellbeing.
  • Library and information services support learners, parents, teachers and researchers.
  • The ECO Green Unit promotes practical paper bag making activities.

CeDS offers Friday and Saturday counselling support for persons with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities.

What we offer

Training, awareness and practical support

CeDS combines classroom training, vocational exposure, parent engagement, teacher support, awareness talks, resource publications and disability-focused research initiatives.

Computer and Office Skills Data entry, office automation, desktop publishing, web designing, hardware maintenance, networking, Tally, MS Office and internet basics.
Vocational and Creative Skills Flower and bouquet making, paper bag making, book binding, garment fashion and designing, hand embroidery, basic electronics and assembling.
Other Services / Programmes Career counselling, PSC exam training, research project assistance, horticulture therapy, parent/faculty workshops, internships, library services and consultation.
